Exit Plan @ The Good Ship

Playing in a Pit of Noise is the best way to describe how we felt for most of the show at The Good Ship.

Far away in the gallery were our new fans, but thoughout the set it was hard to know what was going on. But we have been asked back to play there again, and unknown to us we were sounding good last night. Thanks to all that came down! Epecially that guy in the hat !

QOTSA / White Stripes / LCD / Daft Punk

You'd think that most bands listed above would be a spectacle live, but there seemed to be something missing... I'm not sure what it was, but there seems to be 3 way connection between the death of the festival over sponsership and having to say excuse me in a crowd before someone will move.

QOTSA seemed bored, White Stripes seemed to have faces full of regret , LCD had technical difficulties that amounted to the band throwing their arms in the air and wandering off to a confused crowd claping and raising eyebrows. Daft Punk has an excellent stage / pyramid light show, but for me i felt like i had returned to a early 90's hangover of predictable beats and syths.

EP is almost there.

Following several days in the recording studio last month, the legend Mikey (Iggy) H. has delivered the master recordings. It makes such a difference to have these 3 tracks sounding so meaty and professionally done. Star is by far my favourite, but the track listing has gone though the market research ears of the design bods and we are sticking with Sparks, Fuel Not Fire and then Star. The EP will be available for download through a store coming soon.

Meanwhile , you can listen to it here; http://www.myspace.com/exitplanuk

Now OTR Recording Studios is old school rock, not a computer in sight, just alot of carpet walls and big olde mixing desks. here is a quick video of wandering down into the depths of where we spent the time ...

... notice the twists and turns and as you get closer the noise gets louder and louder till you end up with in a room full of distortion

While I am on about the band, I should mention that the last few gigs have been awesome in different ways. First off the charity gig 20 May in Hemel was a massive success, with Exit Plan and The Budda Cakes playing to raise £450 for cancer research.

The Spitz gig - 2nd June was fantastic , good sound, big stage and a dancing crowd.

Metal Goodness

The kiddies were out in force last night to see Trivium at Hammersmith Apollo, and so was I ... lost in a world of wonder 'how come i suddenly look so old" .. Oh yeah , cause these little nippers around me are the new generation of metal heads.

What was once all about Metallica was now a new breed of black t-shirt; red faced; and wet to the bone, moshing like the world is about to end.

The show was tight loud and full of hair. A perfect metal gig and with supports act Annihilator. A must see /// 4 stars ... no pyrotechnics.

Save The Spitz

After the usual Thursday night jam in friendly Hackney I was making my way home on the tube when I read about future closure of the famous London venue ... Now normally I am the usual Londoner that would ignore this news and turn the page, but as the band is playing there soon I thought I would lend a hand. Believe me if you know me, charity is not in my nature, But there is a Save The Spitz campaign site, click below to sign a petition at http://www.spitz.co.uk/save_the_spitz.htm
